Kody Cunningham - Director of Photography / Gaffer

Kody’s goal as a storyteller is to help people find themselves through film. Creating films that are visually innovative, thought-provoking, and honest. His work as a cinematographer is defined by footage that forces the audience to lean in and pay attention. Each time he is behind the camera his goal is to create the most powerful and impactful composition possible. Originally from Arlington, Texas, Kody studied film and television at the Savannah College of Art & Design with a focus on Directing, Cinematography, and Gaffing. Kody has worked on feature films like Gemini Man (2019), Killerman (2019), The Little Mermaid (2018), Gifted (2017), and Underground (2017). Kody has worked as a Director of Photography, Gaffer, or Camera Operator on ESPN’s Banana Land (2022), Pine Grove Vixen (2022), Soldier’s Heart (2020), Massacre on Aisle 12 (2016), Bathroom Stalling (2015), The Pinewood Man (2014). Kody is an avid Writer/Director and has made films like Blue Hour (2014), Bingewatchers Anonymous (2017), and most recently the feature film What We Always Wanted which is currently in post-production. In addition to cinematography, Kody is also a Davinci Resolve Certified Colorist and has done color work for feature and documentary films.
